Hi Aki, are you still interested in scanlation?

Hi Aki,

Now that I finished translating the second episode "Poe no Mura," I have been thinking about what you have proposed earlier about doing a layout work.

I am not quite sure about that idea yet, mainly because I am concerned about the extra work that would generate in modifying translation to fit inside the balloons. As I see it we need to work together to make it work, but I am not sure what you intend. For example, do you have Photoshop? I might consider an experiment based on a short episode like "Translucent Silver Hair" if you are still interested.

Can you send me an e-mail and explain your idea (please write in Japanese if that's easier)?

To be honest I would love to see how professional the work may look in proper scanlation form.

Thank you very much for your interest.

I came across your blog while googling for more info about the Year 24 group, and it's great that you are writing about Moto Hagio. I would love to learn more about her works, as well as other mangaka from that era. As a fan who scanlates as a hobby, I take great care to resize dialogue so that it fits within bubbles. Art is left unflipped. Some edit out sfx and insert English, but I prefer to leave the original in and provide a smaller English translation. So I do think a scanlator could do a very good job in scanlating this manga. Please consider giving it a chance.
